  1. I actually have a spinning wheel from Germany. I would like to learn to spin, even by the spool method. Additionally, I would like to brush-up on my knitting and crocheting techniques. Do you teach any classes after 5:00 p.m. (for those of us that work traditional hours)?

    Thank you.

  2. Yes, I can do that. Would weekends be an option for you? We can work it out.
Spinning classes are best in three sessions of an hour or an hour and a half each. I like to start with the drop spindle, and depending on interest, switch later to the wheel.
    1. Introduction – basics, practice, making sure the student has the skills and comfort level to practice at home.
    2. Mystery Fibers – exploring other fibers; comparing, contrasting, talking about the qualities of different natural fibers; more practice and refining technique.
    3. Next steps – plying, washing, setting the twist; ideas to use the yarn to its best effect. This is where we can switch to the wheel, and ‘customize’ to the student’s needs.
I look forward to getting to know you!
